Well, after a couple of hours of shopping in the middle of the night, I managed to get about an hours sleep before one of the two boys woke me up. Walker crawled into bed with Scott and I a little after 6:00. As usual, he wanted to watch cartoons, but I tried to convince him to fall back to sleep. Then the OTHER ONE woke up. I asked Scott to get up and get him a bottle in hopes he's go back down for another hour or two. Unfortunately when Scott checked to see if he needed a diaper change, he found that Caden was soaked through, so he had to then completely change him. I kept cuddling with Walker, but by the time Scott got Caden back in the crib, Walker had enough of the bed. I finally gave up and went into the living room to turn on cartoons. Of course, Caden saw us leave the room and that meant there was NO WAY he was falling back to sleep.
I had really hoped that I would be able to grab a short nap either later in the morning or some time during the day, but that never happened.
Walker wanted to know "What are we doing today?" He wanted to go to a store and buy a toy. I explained to him that there was no way we were going anywhere near a Walmart or a Target. Scott told Walker and I to figure out what we wanted to do today.
I decided that I DID still want to do some Christmas shopping and I suggested we go to the new Big Lots store that opened in Taunton. I've seen commercials for the store for years, but there was never one near us. I wanted to check it out and figured it probably wasn't a major destination for most Black Friday-ers. I was right. It was pretty quiet.
We strolled around Big Lots and picked up a few little things. A couple of small gifts and Scott got something for the school. And of course, Walker got a toy...and a new Spiderman toothbrush.
We headed back home from there. The weather was really yucky...cold and rainy...so we had no real desire to pop from store to store with a 5 year old and a 1 year old.
We decided to stop someplace for lunch. Scott suggested TGI Fridays. I thought the place would be MOBBED being that it was a Friday and so many people had the day off. I couldn't have been more wrong. The place was pretty empty compared to normal. It was around 2:00 and we got sat right away.
We had a nice lunch, though Walker never eats much of his food. Caden had some baby food and a whole bunch of Cheerios...many of which he ate by picking up with a crayon. Yeah, odd, but it amazes me that he can actually do it!
It would have been a relaxing lunch had they not sat three annoying and immature young adults behind us. Actually it was more like one immature young man...he did most of the talking, and the two girls he was with really didn't say much, or at least not as loudly. He was going on and on and on about some girl he was dating who claimed she was pregnant and that he didn't believe her and that until she proved it was his he wasn't taking responsibility for it. He even went on about how a past girlfriend had done the same thing to him. Just as we were wrapping up, he got a call from the "possibly pregnant girl" and he was being SO rude to here and just plain obnoxious. We couldn't have gotten out of there fast enough...sigh.
I dropped Scott off at home and then took the boys for a "nap lap" in hopes that they would fall asleep so we could all go home and take a nap, but Walker didn't seem at all ready to sleep, so I decided to make another stop to do more Christmas shopping. Of course, Walker then fell asleep in the shopping cart. I picked up a few thing and then headed back to the car. Unfortunately the cold wet weather woke Walker up, so his nap didn't last very long.
I headed back home with the boys. Let them play. Did some cleaning, and then got them some dinner. Caden went to bed at 7:30 and Walker fell asleep on the couch watching cartoons.
Scott got home around 8:30. He called and ordered us some pizza, though there was no new Clone Wars on (Fridays are usually Pizza and Clone Wars Night). In fact there was no Clone Wars on at all. I watched some "Say Yes To The Dress" while Scott surfed the internet and looked up Star Wars MicroMachines on ebay that I wanted to get for Walker for Christmas.
I told Scott that I was contemplating going back to Old Navy the next day to pick up some Christmas stockings that were going to be on sale for $2 each (regularly $9.50). He was nice enough to call the store for me to find out what time they opened (since he had the phone over by the computer and i was all cozy on the couch by that time). I had him set our alarm clock for 6:30, as Old Navy would be opening at 7:00 the next morning. Then I fell asleep on the couch...of course I did.

Thursday 11/26/09 - THANKSGIVING...and into Black Friday
Thanksgiving morning...filled with baking and decorating cookies, a special breakfast treat, and parade watching. It was the perfect Thanksgiving morning. The kind I've been hoping for for many years. It reminded me of Thanksgiving mornings from my childhood. My mom would be preparing the turkey dinner and I'd be helping, and we'd both be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The only thing that was missing was the smell of turkey in the oven. It was replaced by the smell of cookies and later baked ziti...as mom was still the one cooking the turkey, but at her own house.
Walker was excited to put on his red robot apron and help me mix up the ingredients for cookies. Then he helped me make some cinnamon twists for breakfast. After we were done eating, we started the decorating process of the Turkey-Hand Cookies we had baked the night before. We sat at the kitchen table watching Thanksgiving Day parade...Walker getting super excited about all the characters that he knew: Dora, Spiderman, Mickey Mouse, Elmo...and decorated the turkeys just as they showed on Nick Jr (which Walker has seen a couple of dozen times over the past months and new all the steps by heart). He was very excited that they came out just the way there were on TV. I was excited to have someone to watch the parade with (Scott would rather sleep in then get up to watch a parade on TV).
My favorite part of the Parade is always the arrival of Santa, and now with kids and see their excitement, it's even better. I have to admit that I get emotional when I see Walker's bright smile and twinkling eyes whenever he sees the Man In Red.
After the baking was done. Scott put the boys into the tub and I whipped up a batch of baked ziti and got myself dressed. Scott jumped into the shower and then we packed everything up and headed over to my parents to have Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the family.
Whenever anyone asks me how my holiday was, I usually respond in the same way: "Lots of food, Lots of people. Lots of noise." And this year was no different.
There is ALWAYS WAY TOO MUCH food at our family holiday dinners...but that is the way we love it. Everything was yummy, and there was PLENTY for seconds...and even some to take home for 3rds and 4ths.
For dinner it's my parents, Scott's mom, my sister Kellie and her family of 7, my brother Ray, Scott, myself, and our boys. We were able to fit everyone around the table with the exception of 4 of the little ones at a card table next to the dinning room table.
After dinner my sister Korie comes over with her husband and 3 girls, as well as my Aunt Karin and her granddaughter and her boys may pop in at some point. This year my cousin's Beverly and her daughter and grandson joined in on the fun.
Of course, with that many people, it's going to be NOISY! And it's not just from the dozen or so kids running around the screaming. My family has ALWAYS been loud: "COLIN! THERE IS TURKEY JUICE DRIPPING EVERYWHERE!", "JESUE, CAN'T THEY MAKE A FRIGGIN' FIRST DOWN?!", "DAD, WILL YOU JUST RELAX!", "NO! DON'T BRING ROOTBEER INTO THE LIVING ROOM, YOU'LL SPILL IT!!!"...you get the idea. It's just always loud, but I wouldn't want it any other way. The only thing I would remove is the arguments that always seem to pop up because someone gets on someone's nerves at some point. At least we got through the day without any tears, food throwing, or door slamming (well, the little one's are always slamming doors, but that doesn't count).
We finally called it a day and headed home about 8:00. The boys were getting VERY tired and pretty cranky. Walker still isn't 100% and we think Caden is now coming down with something.
We had brought two cars, just in case the boys became too cranky earlier in the day and then Scott could bring them home. Scott took Caden and I took Walker. Walker and I got home first as Scott had to stop for coffee...I desperately needed one as well.
I got Walker into his PJs and settled him watching TV while I started cleaning up the mess I had made in the kitchen that morning. Scott got home with Caden and got him ready for bed. Caden went down and then we let Walker stay up for a little longer. Scott gave him his meds and then read him a story before tucking him into bed.
Finally, the two of us crashed on the couch and enjoyed the quiet of the house...well, until Walker started hacking really badly and I went in and checked on him. I gave him some water and he seemed to settle back down. I'm really eager for this sickness to pass. I feel so bad for him.
I returned to the living room. Set my cell phone for 2:30 as I was playing with the idea of going out to Old Navy at 3:00 to partake in the Black Friday madness. And then I was asleep.
The alarm went off at 2:30. Scott was playing a video game. I turned off the alarm and tried to decide if I REALLY did want to go out. I got up and brushed my teeth and decided that "Yeah, I'm awake" and decided to be one of the "crazies" out on the road in the middle of the night. Scott thought I was crazy, but "whatever mad me happy, just don't wake up the kids."

I got to the Old Navy in Hingham just after 3:00am. The parking lot was PACKED! This Old Navy is sort of out of the way and not close by any other shopping areas, so I was hoping it wouldn't be too busy...I guess the other were probably busier.
I picked up Christmas gifts for my 8 nieces and nephews and even got a pair of sweat pants for myself and it came to less than $70. I felt it was a successful trip.
I think I was in line longer than I was actually shopping, but what can you do. I came all the way out, so I had to just deal with it. Luckily there were some friendly people in line with me and we chatted to pass the time. A girl actually passed out while we all waiting. It was 4 am and the Hingham emergency crew flooded into the store. There had to be about 8 guys for 1 girl. The women behind me said "Slow night in Hingham." I said "you know, when someone passes out, they tell you to give them air. Why is it that 8 firefighters are gathered around her in the middle of a bunch of clothing racks?" LOL! I really do think they were bored. Maybe they were just eager to see the Black Friday Craziness themselves. They walked the girl out. I think she just needed some air.
I got home just before 5am and crawled right back into bed.

Wednesday 11/25/09 - THANKSGIVING EVE
Okay, new format. When life gets busy, there is no way I can keep an updated list. I get too far behind and the idea of going back just becomes daunting. SOOOO...I'm just going to highlight the important stuff :)
Walker woke up at 5:00 and came and laid on the couch with me. His fever was gone, but his breathing was really worrying me. It was fast and shallow. I let him sleep for a while, though I could not...because I was worrying :(
With Walker being sick and juggling both "working from home" and taking care of a sick little one, I hadn't taken a shower in 3 DAYS!!! I wanted to call the doctor when the office opened, and I knew if I didn't take a shower before I did that, then I never would...because with my luck they would have said "Can you come in right now." I headed into the shower at 5:30.
I got out of the shower and got myself dressed and ready for work, I popped on the computer to looked up "pneumonia" online and the symptoms they described sounded just like what Walker was going through. I woke up Scott and asked him if he could get up a little earlier today so I could get into work earlier...or at LEAST on time. I also told him my concerns about Walker's breathing. He said he would call the doctor's when he got to kung fu and make an appointment for later in the day.
Together we got the boys ready...it was harder with Walker, since he was so tired and just laid there limply :( I headed off to work and Scott went to kung fu.
I got into the office and got caught up on things. I had done a few projects from home, so I printed some of them out and passed them along to those who needed to review. I helped trouble shoot a last minute project and then finished up my Sparks pages for "2nd Editorial Review". Worked on a few other projects and had a couple of meetings.
Scott called to update me on Walker's doctor's appointment. It turns out he doesn't have pneumonia, but bronchitis :( They subscribed him antibiotics and an inhaler. Well, it's best that we know WHY he is sick and now we have meds to help him get better.
Headed out to lunch with my friend, Sandra, from Dublin at California Pizza Kitchen. I had a very yummy 5 cheese pizza...that deserves and EXTRA "YUM"... We only had just about an hour for lunch. Sandra and I could talk for HOURS, so it was sort of rushed, but we had great conversation about "personality types" which I had taken a workshop on a few months back. I SOOO wish Sandra lived closer than an ocean away. I miss her bunches!
Got back to the office a few minutes late for a management meeting. I brought Sandra with me to the office because she also knows Lianne and I thought they could chat for a few minutes before she had to go. I gave her a big hug and went into my meeting.
The Museum closed at 2:00 today for the holiday. I ended up staying until 2:30 as I had a couple of things I wanted to complete before I headed out for our 4 day holiday.
Had to stop by CVS to pick up Walker's meds -- $109!!!!!!!! OMG, I could NOT believe it. The biggest cost was $70 for a special mask to attach to the inhaler for kids. I figured it was best to get it, as I knew Walker would NOT take easily to putting something in his mouth and breathing it in. This special mask makes it alot easier. The pharmacist said that if I had a AAA card, the there may be a discount. I didn't have a card, but Scott does (he's on his mom's plan). She said he should be able to come back with prescription and get the discount...if there is one. I hope there is...I could use $14 back.
Got home and told Scott about how much the meds cost. He was shocked! Walker was sleeping. Scott said he had crawled into his bed (which he never sleeps in during the day) and fell asleep after lunch. He said his temp had started to go back up and he gave him Tylenol a little while ago. I unpacked all the meds and got some of the antibiotics ready and went into his room and woke him up enough to give him a dose.
I played with Caden for a while and then popped on the computer to let my FB friends and family know what is up with Walker. While I was on the computer I heard Caden in Walker's room pounding on a drum and then I sensed someone behind me. It was Walker. He was drowsy, so I picked him up and held him on my lap. Caden then came out and started to get jealous (yes, it has already begun) and wanted to sit on my lap as well, so I then had both of them on top of me.
After a while I got Walker to drink some juice and eventually the meds seemed to have kicked in because he had more energy. He even had an appetite, which he really hadn't had in a few days. I gave him some jelly toast and he ate the whole thing without any prompting.
We all played for a while and then I did some cleaning around the house. Walker has been obsessing about two tiny little Star Wars figures that he has misplaced and has had Scott and I searching everywhere for them. They can't be more than an inch tall. They could be ANYWHERE in the house, in the cars, or even at the kung fu school. They could in fact be completely LOST. But Walker NEVER forgets, so I told him that it was easier to FIND something if you cleaned and put things back where they belong. The concept seemed to be lost on him, but as long as I was "looking" he seemed fine to let me do what I was doing...because it was for HIM - LOL!
I promised Walker that we could make Turkey-Hand Cookies tonight. He's been seeing the activity on Nick Jr. for weeks and I told him we could do it, but I wanted to wait until Caden went to sleep. We traced out our hands on paper and I cut them out and told him once Cade was in bed, we could make up the dough.
http://www.nickjr.com/recipes/hand-turkey-frosted-cookies.jhtml
Got Caden into PJs, fed him dinner, let him play, and then changed him again before putting him to bed.
Made Turkey-Hand Cookies with Walker. We had traced our hands earlier and then we took those templates and traced them on to some cookie dough. Walker LOVES to mix stuff. I bought him an apron with a robot on it years ago and it's seem much love between baking and painting. What he doesn't like to do is touch "messy stuff" so when it came to the part when you have to use your hands., so I finished mixing the dough and making it into a big ball. At that point, Walker is fine to play around with it. We had alot of fun cutting out the turkeys and he would tell me who each one was going to be for. He wants to make them for his cousins :)
We cooked the turkeys and then I tucked him into bed after a bedtime story.
Scott came home a bit late and i was too tired to cook, so he brought home salads from Uno's...yummy! I had wanted to make pork chops, but the days activities wiped me out. I'm going to be so happy when everyone is healthy again.

POST HOLD
I'm deciding to change my blogging format. I'm just able to keep up with my lists anymore. Some days just get too crazy and I get behind, and then catching back up just becomes daunting and then I get even FURTHER behind.
This post is a "hold" so I can post a recap of a few days, but it's something I'm going to have to come back too. So come back and check it out later on this weekend if you like....

THURSDAY 11/19/09 - ROUGH MORNING. ROUGH EVENING
MORNING
- ROUGH MORNING...Caden didn't sleep well AT ALL. He was up numerous time and just cried. He didn't have a fever, but he was stuffy, so it could just be a cold thing. Most of the night was a blur, but he was up from basically 3:00 to 4:30. We gave him a bottle and he just cried. I took him of the crib and laid with him in the bed and he fell asleep, but when I moved him to the crib, he woke up again. I let him cry for about a half hour and he didn't seem to let up, so I got out of the bed and brought him into the living room. Scott moved to the bedroom and I cuddled with Caden on the couch. he finished a bottle of juice, and then was wide awake. He just wanted to sit there and clap. Eventually he wanted to get down and play. I was too tired to fight him, so I let him crawl around for a little bit while I sat on the rocking chair and tried to stay awake. I eventually got him on my lap and rocked him a bit until he started to look tired. Finally I was too tired, so I decided to try and put him in the crib again. This time he didn't cry and I went back to bed. A half hour later, Scott started coughing and it the noise woke Caden up again...SIGH! he didn't totally wake up, with was good, and Scott moved back to the living room and slept the rest of the night on the couch.
- Alarm clock eventually went off at 6:15 and I hit the snooze button 3 or 4 times before getting up. Caden didn't flitch...of course.
- It was closing in on 7:00 and Walker wasn't awake yet. I opened his bedroom door and got his clothes together. Went into his room just past 7:00 and tried to get him up, but he was VERY groggy. Had to tickle, kiss, and wiggle him to finally get him up. Noticed that is was almost 10 past 7, and he had to be to the bus stop in 10 minutes. Helped him get dressed and then went into the kitchen to put his lunch in his lunch box and realized Scott hadn't prepared his lunch. I ran into the living room and told Scott he had to get up and help Walker get ready because I had to make his lunch. Cut up apples, made a sandwich, put some carrots and crackers in bags and put it all into his lunch box. Scott got Walker's shoes and jacket on and they were out the door by 7:19.
- Scott got back in the house and laid back down in the bed while I took a shower and got ready for work. Caden was STILL sleeping.
- Got out of the shower and got dressed. Dried my hair and put on my make-up. Got out of the bathroom and could hear Caden chatting in his crib. Took him out and he had leaked. Changed his diaper and his clothes. Woke Scott up to move his car and then headed into work...20 minutes late!

AFTER WORK
- Got home about 20 minutes late. Came into the house, Caden was crawling around and Walker was curled up on the couch under blankets. I said "Honey, are you tired?" and he said "I don't feel well." My mother-in-law said he was fine when he got off the bus, but he started complaining he was sick when they were at Target. They got home and he just climbed on the couch and under the covers.
- I chatted with my mother-in-law for a little while and gave her some clothes to pass on to my brother-in-law for his new baby and she headed home.
- I wanted to go to my the craft show that my sister was doing tonight, but with Walker being sick, it didn't look like that was going to be possible. I called my parents too see if they could watch him while I went to the craft show. My mom wanted to go as well, so we planned to go together and leave Walker with my dad, but Walker didn't like that idea, so we ended up bringing him.
- My mom pushed Walker around in an umbrella stroller and I carried Caden. The show was really small, so we walked around it quickly. Caden was getting fidgety and Walker REALLY wasn't feeling well. My mom and I bought some raffle tickets and then we headed out.
- I dropped my mom off at home and then brought the boys home. Walker went straight for the couch and I changed him into his PJs. He said he wanted dinner, but ended up falling asleep before I could get it for him.
- Changed into my own PJs. Changed Caden into his PJs and put him into his high chair and gave him some crackers and Cheerios while I checked FB and updated my list.
- Fed Caden while we watched Survivor.
- Put Caden to bed. Sat on the couch to watch Survivor in the peace and quiet. Started to watch CSI and fell asleep. Scott called and woke me up. He was running an errand. I told him I was very tired, so he decided to pick-up his own dinner.
- Scott got home and moved Walker to his bed, as he was still sleeping on the couch. I had fallen asleep myself, and woke up half-way through The Mentalist. I finished watching it and fell asleep...I was too tired even for dinner :(
- ROUGH MORNING...Caden didn't sleep well AT ALL.

WEDNESDAY 11/18/09
MORNING
- 6:15: Alarm clock goes off, and I get up, because I promised Scott that I'd do his calendar for the school in the morning when I was too tired to do it last night after dinner.
- 6:45: finished updating the calendar. Have to wait until Scott gets up to check it before I can print it. Do a quick check of Facebook.
- 6:55: Open Walker's bedroom door to start getting him up and see that he is already awake. Give him hugs and tickles and then carry him into the living room (because he asked me too) and turned on Clone Wars (because he asked as well).
- We hear Caden and I go get him and then get a cup of milk for Walker. I give Caden a bottle and then find clothes for Walker. I help him get dressed as time is tick-tick-ticking by.
- Pack up Walker's lunch and put on his socks and shoes. Get his jacket on and put Caden in his crib so I can bring Walker down to the bus stop...it looks COLD outside with frost all over the front lawn.
- Put coats on me and Walker and head to bus.
- Get back and take Caden out of the crib and get myself dressed while trying to wake up Scott.
- Scott gets up and checks the calendar and I make a few changes that are needed and then make a PDF and send it along to the student who posts it online for us.
- 8:00: Time to finish getting ready for work.
WORK
- Got in 20 minutes late...how is it I get up early, but still get in late? I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that my husband doesn't like to get up early...or even on time ;)
- Got my computer started and then ran down to get coffee and breakfast...as I didn't have it on the way in :(
- Did a quick check of email and then finished up my Sparks pages for "First Editorial Review".
- 10:15: Had a meeting with my boss.
- 10:45: Back to my Sparks pages. Printed out Sparks for the editors and then updated my time log from yesterday AND today. Checked emails. Filled out my time sheet. Printed out our project list so I can assign designers to new projects that came in this week.
- Couldn't help myself. Had to pop on Facebook.
- Worked on Design Challenges magnet designs.
- 12:00: Lunch! Ate pot pie and uploaded photos to FB.
- Met with project coordinator to review design assignments.
- Back to my Design Challenges magnets.
- 1:30: went and saw "Planet You" in the 3D cinema. We've been asked to help out with a new marketing plan for the film, but first we needed to see it. If you like "creepy crawly" things, then you'd probably like this film. Me, I'd rather not have known...
- 2:05: Had a quick pow-wow with the MarCom staff to discuss out thoughts on "Planet You" film.
- Back to my desk to check email and work on magnet designs.
- 2:30: Design Assignments meeting. Share my magnet design concepts with the design staff.
- 3:00: More work on my magnet designs.
- 3:30: Head out! Don't have any childcare for Caden this afternoon, as my parents had to go to a wake, so I had to get to kung fu by 4:30 to take Caden...
AFTER WORK
- Left work and the traffic was bad. Got to kung fu 15 minutes late. Grabbed Caden out of the workout room and brought him into the waiting area while Walker colored with one of the little brothers of a Junior student. Changed Caden's diaper and then packed up the boys and headed out.
- Scott asked me to pick him up something at Michael's. We were almost there when I got a phone call from him saying "You probably figured out that you left your pocketbook behind..." Guess I won't be stopping at Michael's. Luckily I hadn't left the phone in my pocketbook.
- Headed home, but Walker wanted to detour past the "Christmas house"...the neighbor who has their Christmas lights up already. After battling traffic to get there, the lights weren't on AND then I took a wrong turn down a one-way street...it's just one of those nights :(
- Finally got home and settle the boys in the kitchen with dinner for Walker and a snack and a bottle for Caden. Changed into my own pajamas and filled a basket with dirty clothes to bring down to the washer. Popped on the computer to start my evening list before my night got away from me.
- Had a bowl of cereal...I was starved...and switched out a load of laundry.
- Checked email.
- Made a couple of blog posts. Got interrupted a couple of times to get Caden out of the trash...finally moving it to the back hall as it's trash night anyway...and getting milk for Walker.
- Checked FB and turned to see Caden standing in the middle of the floor, not holding on to anything. As I watched him, he swayed back and forth like the was deciding what to do next. He finally realized I was watching him and as we stared at each other, he took ONE STEP! YAY CADEN!!!
- Turned on Clone Wars via the DVR for Walker and started a bath for the boys.
- Washed down the tub and filled it for the boys. Put Caden in first, who was VERY excited about getting into the water, he almost went head-first into the tub. Walker finished watching Clone Wars and then joined Caden in the tub. Caden is a MAD MAN in the tub...slipping and sliding everywhere, throwing things, and splashing. Walker enjoys it, but Caden is a little too active for his comfort level. I washed Caden down and got him out of the tub and let Walker play for a little while by himself while I got Caden into his PJs.
- Put Caden in his high chair with some cheerios and finished washing up Walker. Got him out of the tub, dried off, and into PJs.
- Cleaned out the tub and put the towels up to dry. Went into the kitchen and fed Caden his dinner. Swept the floor of Cheerios and crackers after he was done dinner and did a quick list update before putting Caden to bed.
- Put Caden down, but he cried. Picked him back up and sat on the couch and cuddled with him for a few minutes. Walker whined because he was getting tired and wanted to do his homework. We all watched America's Next Top Model together. At the first commercial I picked Caden back up and put him in his crib. He cried again, but I let him cry and sat on the couch and did homework with Walker.
- Walker drew a couple of pictures of objects that started with "n" and then drew a picture of his favorite breakfast...pancakes...which is NOT his favorite breakfast...he doesn't even like breakfast. He only choose it because it's in one of his favorite story books - lol!
- Walker laid down on the couch and fell asleep as I watched the end of ANTM.
- 9:00: back online to check email and try to get a couple more blog entries posted.
- Scott got home and I made dinner...steak and pasta. We watched some TV and I crashed...night! night!
- 6:15: Alarm clock goes off, and I get up, because I promised Scott that I'd do his calendar for the school in the morning when I was too tired to do it last night after dinner.

TUESDAY 11/17/09
MORNING
- 3:00: Walker is standing in the living room door. "Mamma, get up, I leaked!" He had wet the bed. I get off the couch, go and get him stripped down, cleaned up, and redressed. We both settle back down on the couch and fall back to sleep.
- 6:15: Alarm clock; snooze. 6:24: Alarm goes off, and, myself, Caden, and Walker get up. Play. Turn on cartoons. Get clothes for Walker. Milk for both boys.
- Set Caden up in his chair outside the bathroom and take a shower. Just as I get out the central fire alarm goes off and a minute later my door bell rings. I wrap a towel around me and wake up Scott and tell him to investigate. The boys are wondering what the noise it. Scott answers the door, it's the upstairs neighbor. She wants to know if we know why it's going off. Her and Scott start investigating, but then it stops and we never find out why it went off.
- Walker got himself dressed. I packed his backpack. I change Caden and get Scott up to take Walker to the bus.
- I get dressed, dry my hair, and put on my make-up. I play with Caden for a little bit. I try to find a Toys-R-Us receipt for a toy I bought Walker that we want to return. No luck :(
- I pack myself up and head to work.
WORK
- I got to work early!!!! 8:40...but I listen to Tom Brady on the radio for a few minutes, so I don't get into the office until just before 9:00...but at least it's BEFORE 9.
- Turn on the computer and run down for coffee. I had a muffin and water on the way in, but I really need a coffee.
- Come back up and check email and start my list. Need to catch up on my time-log from yesterday...which I never opened - doh!
- Consult with my boss about the best way to hide some velcro strips that are on some walls around the museum, but currently don't have signs posted on them.
- Had a conversation with a coworker about an upcoming meeting and responded to the meeting request via an email because I had some concerns.
- 9:45: Work on my Sparks newsletter layout.
- 11:00: Had a meeting with a design consultant that we have contracted to work on a "sub-brand" concept for our Adult Programming division.
- 12:45: Lunch
- Chatted with designer about an invite project she's working on. Trying to trouble-shoot some design ideas and how to make them work.
- Back to Sparks.
- More design consulting on the invite project.
- 2:00: Job Assignment Mtg. Get a weekly update on the projects that have been requested.
- Back to Sparks.
- 3:00: "Show & Tell" and tell with the design staff. Fanny had a cool direct marketing piece she got in the mail from DelConte. I forgot to bring my "show & tell" item...though I did show pictures of Caden's birthday party at the end of the meeting :)
- Checked email and then went down for coffee.
- Chatted with coworkers about an assortment of stuff and then goofed off on FB for far longer than I should have - DOH!
- 5:45: I'm SOOOOO LATE
AFTER WORK
- Got to kung fu later than I should have. Picked up the boys and brought them home.
After that, I don't know what I did. I didn't get a chance to update my list. I'm sure it had something to do with watching Dancing With the Stars, putting the boys to bed, and cooking dinner.

After that, I don't know what I did. I didn't get a chance to update my list. I'm sure it had something to do with watching Dancing With the Stars, putting the boys to bed, and cooking dinner.
MONDAY 11/16/09

SUNDAY 11/15/09 - A DAY AT BASS PRO
- Woken up by Walker around 6ish. He was confused why I was sleeping on the floor. Turned on cartoons for Walker and tried to catch a few more winks before Caden woke up.
- Almost 7ish, Caden woke up. Time to really get up. Get Caden out of the crib. Let him play around the living room. Check email and see a post from a family member that a cousin of mine has died :( Sent a text to my parents to find out more.
- Put Caden in his high chair and gave him some Cheerios. Walker set up on the kitchen table with LOTS of toys that have now taken over my kitchen.
- Milk for Walker. Bottle for Caden. Wash dishes. Unload and load dishwasher.
- Scott gets up to take a shower and head to work, he has some classes to teach this morning.
- Walker asks for help putting some Lego pieces together. He runs around the house looking for pieces and tells me where to put them.
- Walker's new little key chain lightsaber he got at last night's concert isn't working. Discover, after a little investigating, that he opened it and lost two of the batteries. Finally end up finding them when I was picking up the blankets and pillows off the living room floor.
- Feed Caden breakfast.
- Talk to my mom about my cousin, Billy. He had diabetes and must have let his sugar level get out of control. He was home alone. :( He was 47.
- Fold clothes and find outfits for the boys. Get myself dressed. Get Walker dressed. Start packing Caden's bag. Get Caden dressed.
- Set Walker up on the computer to watch You Can Draw Star Wars DVD and put Caden down for a nap. Give Walker breakfast (peanut butter crackers...that 's what he wanted). Make myself some toast and chill in the kitchen for a few minutes while watching The Phantom Gourmet.
- 11:30: Waiting for Scott to get home so we can take the boys out to Bass Pro Shop. Walker is back playing with his toys in the kitchen, so I can finally start my daily list...I've been up for 5.5 hours.
- Scott got home and we packed up the boys into the car and headed out for the day. Stopped at Dunkin's for a light breakfast and headed to Foxboro.
- Got to Bass Pro Shop at Patriots Place and walked around. The place is AMAZING! We've heard alot about it, but have never seen it ourselves...well, Walker has. Scoped out everything. They were having free pictures with Santa and doing Christmas crafts. We got a "Bass Pass" to see Santa at 4:30...it was currently 1:30...could we really spend 3 hours in Bass Pro Shop?
- Scott sat at the kids crafting area and made a reindeer ornament with Walker and then Walker colored in a picture of a train and filled out his letter for Santa.
- I took Caden for a walk around the store while Scott did crafts with Walker. We went and saw the big fish tank filled with trout, bass, pike, and more. We then checked out the turtle pond.
- Walker wanted to get a toy and we figured we could find something cheaper at the Christmas Tree Shops which was a couple of doors down. We took a walk to the other side of the shopping area and checked out the Christmas Tree Shop there. We walked around the Christmas Tree Shops. The place was MOBBED! We only wanted to buy 2 things: a Power Ranger toy for Walker and a "Night Before Christmas" story book (which I had just said to Scott when we got into the store that I needed to look the book up on Amazon.com because I couldn't seem to find it anywhere, and then we passed an end-cap with one...funny. It took us about 15 minutes to get through the register line.
- It was now creeping up to 3:00 and we figured we should grab something to eat. In the are we had the Olive Garden and the restaurant IN Bass Pro Shop. We decided to try the latter. It was a cool looking place, but unfortunately they didn't have much of a choice. We got sandwiches and ordered 2 sliders for Walker with fries. About 10 minutes after taking our order, the waitress came back and said "we're out of fries." That was the only thing Walker would eat and it was the one thing I was really looking forward to. We switched Walker's order to mac & cheese and Scott and I got potato salad with our sandwiches. I only ate the sandwich.
- After we were done with our late lunch, it was time to go visit Santa. After ALL that waiting, we were glad the boys were still awake, and not all that cranky. Unfortunately as soon as I put Caden on Santa's lap, he flipped out...and so here is the picture we got...oh well. Walker dropped his letter into Santa's mailbox and told him that he wanted a Tank with Clone Troopers. I'm not really sure if Santa knew what that was - LOL!
- Scott wanted to check out the archery section, as that is the one thing we hadn't seen in the store since arriving 3 hours earlier. Walker saw that the craft area had a new activity and wanted to participate. Scott took Caden for a walk to the archery section and sat with Walker and did more crafting and coloring. about 30 minutes later, Scott rejoined us and we headed for the car.
- The boys fell asleep in the car as they hadn't napped all day. We got home just before 6:00 and I turned on a football game in the kitchen...as I was going through withdrawals in not watching ANY football all day...and then popped on the computer to update my list of all the fun things we did today.
- Scanned in the boys' picture with Santa and posted it to Facebook. Played with Caden for a bit and then put him in his high chair with a bottle of milk. He's very cranky. He's not feeling well, though he has not developed a fever.
- Made a couple of blog posts and played with Caden.
- 7:30: went into the bedroom to wake Scott up from his nap. Put away a bunch of clothes I had folded YESTERDAY. Walker came into the room all groggy and I picked him up and cuddled with him for a bit. Brought Walker back into the living room and turned on cartoons and then played with Caden on the bed while we tried to get Scott up.
- Scott finally got out of bed and I got ready to go and watch the Pats with my dad.
- It was nice to sit and watch the game with my dad and not have to juggle the two boys through out the game. I WAS a good game...at least till the last quarter. The Pats lost in the last 2 minutes - MAN!!!!
- I headed home and made a quick stop by Walgreens to pick up diapers for Caden. Got home and cuddled on the the couch with Scott until I fell asleep...sometime after 12:30.
- Almost 7ish, Caden woke up. Time to really get up. Get Caden out of the crib. Let him play around the living room. Check email and see a post from a family member that a cousin of mine has died :( Sent a text to my parents to find out more.

SATURDAY 11/14/09 - STAR WARS: IN CONCERT DAY
- 3:30 am: Walker wakes up and wants to watch cartoons. I tell him "no, it's too early. Lay down and go back to bed." He keeps talking and I keep telling him to go to sleep that it's still night time. Eventually we hear Caden making noise. I go in and change his diaper and give him a bottle and put him back to bed. Come back into the living room and Walker is still awake. I tell him he really needs to sleep or he'll be too tired for the "surprise" happening later today. I try to fall back to sleep, but Walker just sits on the the other end of the couch coloring on the receipt from the last night's pizza. Eventually I fall asleep, I think Walker does too.
- 6-something, Walker wakes back up and says "Mamma, it's morning, I want to watch cartoons now." I look at the clock and it's in the 6 o'clock hour so I say "fine" and turn on Clone Wars which he missed the night before.
- I try to go back to sleep, but Caden wakes up just before 7. Get him out of the crib, change his diaper and let him play. Jump on the computer to see what happened on Facebook. Exchange more emails with my neighbor about moving. Set Walker up in the kitchen to play with some toys on the table that Caden can't get into. Put Caden in his high chair to eat Cheerios and drink a bottle.
- Play around online while being interrupted by the boys to get them something or out of something and waking up Scott.
- Fed the boys breakfast. Changed diapers. Played with the boys. Sat and cuddled on the couch watching the neighbors move while Caden drank his bottle.
- Washed bottles. Swept the kitchen floor. Picked up toys. Folded clothes...I'm sure all these will have to be repeated again sometime today.
- 10:15: Hoping Caden will go down for a nap soon so I can go take a shower in peace. Did more bottle washing and folding of clothes. Picked up more toys, only for Walker to empty more on the floor...sigh.
- Got Caden down for a nap and took a shower. Packed Caden's bag. Found some "fun" Star Wars themed clothes to wear to the concert today. Dried my hair and put on my make up. Got Walker dressed.
- Caden got up and I got him dressed. Helped Walker find "arms" for his Lego guys. Checked email and saw that a few other friends are also going to the SW concert today.
- Scott got home. Finished getting ready to go to the concert and then packed up the boys into the car. Dropped Caden off with my parents and headed to the T to take the train into town.
- Walker was very excited to take the train. He had asked Scott the other day if we could go on a train. There were lots of other people and children on the train heading the same place we were. Walker still didn't know what his "surprise" was, but he was pretty sure it had to do with "Star Wars" as we were all wearing SW clothes...plus he knows it's ALWAYS Star Wars - lol!
- We got to the Garden and headed up. We saw some exhibit cases of Star Wars costumes and when we made it up to the concourse level, we found many of our friends in their Star Wars costumes. We first ran into Aaron in this Biker Scout and then Terry as Mon Mothma. We saw Darth Vader and some stormtroopers from afar, but the concourse area was MOBBED and everyone was trying to get close to the costumed characters. We decided to head to our seat about 25 minutes before the show started and was able to squeeze in and say "Hi" to "Commander Gree" (aka Sean) on the way.
- We had GREAT seats. We were at the far end of the "court" and in the first row, so we had no one in front of us. It was perfect. Walker noticed it looked like "Star Wars" right off the bat. "Look Mom, it's the Death Star!" While we sat there they played different SW sounds like lightsabers, ships, and Wookiees. He was getting VERY excited, and so were we :)
- Before the show started we saw that our 501st friends were in the section next to us. They had pretty good seats as well. Scott had wanted to troops the event, but once he got the flu, he knew he wouldn't have the energy. We had bought our tickets weeks ago, only because we wanted to bring Walker and we weren't sure what the plans were for trooping the Garden. It was better to be safe than sorry.
- The show started off with a BANG...kicking right off into the 20th Century Fox theme and into the Star Wars theme...including "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" appearing on the large IMAX screen in front of us. It was AWESOME. As soon as the Star Wars logo appeared on the screen, the crowd went wild...as usual, I got emotional. I don't know what it is, but whenever I see those words on the screen it sends me right back to when I was 6. Whenever I see a new Star Wars movie with Walker it makes me even more emotional, because I know he's just excited as I was 30 years ago. It's amazing!
- The show was wonderful. It was such a different way to re-see the films. The story is "retold" via a narration from Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and the music of the film. Each music score/theme is accompanied by clips of all 6 movies re-edited together to go along with the music. It was great to see, say, all the Anakin clips from Episode 1 - 3 combined together. You really got to see how his transformation happened AND how it really DOES all flow together. It was also cool to see scenes from the Original Trilogy combined with the Prequals. There IS a common thread that goes through-out all the films and this "version" of the story really high-lights that. At the end, I was left amazed that I could re-experience a story I have seen so many times over the past 30 years and that it really felt "new."
- Walker was pretty tired by the time the concert was over. He hadn't had his daily nap and he was getting pretty cranky, but when we started leaving he did want to see some of the costumes that were on exhibit. We fought the crowds and were able to get up to some of the cases he wanted to see. We also ran into several friends that were also at the concert. It always amazes me that in a crowd of 10s of thousands of people, you can STILL cross paths with those people that you know.
- On the way out of the Garden we did come across Commander Gree again and we waved "goodbye." We then stopped at the Dunkin Donuts counter as I hadn't really had anything to eat since breakfast and my head was POUNDING!!! I figured a cup of coffee may help. We ran into more friends in the Dunkin's line and chatted with them for a bit. I got stopped by a few people who were coming and going to tell me they loved my skirt and wanted to know where I got it. I explained that I made it from old Star Wars T-shirts and they were very impressed. It's one of my favorite items I've made as well :)
- We then headed back to the train. We took the Green Line to the Red and Walker promptly fell asleep once the Red Line started moving. We got back to the Braintree T and Scott carried Walker to the car and we went to pick up Caden at my parents.
- We visited with my mom for a little while, but Walker was cranky, and Scott and I were HUNGRY. We decided to "risk" going out for dinner because otherwise we'd probably just end up with greasy subs for dinner if we went home.
- We went to Uno's and the boys were good for the most part, Caden was tired as he didn't nap either and was the first to get cranky. We did manage to eat ALL our dinner then headed home.
- Caden was VERY cranky in the car, so I dropped Scott off with the boys at home and then drove to the store to pick-up baby food and milk.
- When I got home Caden was in bed and Walker was again cranky. He wanted to stay up and Watch TV, but I told him it was late and he had to go to bed. I read him a bedtime story and then kissed him goodnight.
- Scott and I cuddled on the couch. My head wasn't pounding as bad as it had been earlier in the evening, but it was still aching. I quickly fell asleep on the couch.
- 12:30: I wake up to Caden crying. Scott isn't on the couch so I figure he's trying to take care of Caden. He walks through the room and goes into the bedroom with a bottle. He comes back out again and Cade is still crying. I suggest that maybe he needs to be changed. Scott grumbles and goes back into the room. I lay on the couch for a few more minutes trying to wake up and then finally head for the bedroom. Scott comes out with a defeated look on his face and says he doesn't know what's wrong. I go in and take Caden out of the crib and just rock him for a little while. He settles down, but when I put him back in the crib and cries again.
- I take Caden into the living room and rock him in the glider. He's very tired, but won't close his eyes. He's not hot. We think he's just over tired. I finally get him to take a bottle of juice and settle down. I put him back in the crib and find that Scott is asleep on the couch. I don't want to go back into the bedroom just yet, because I don't know if Caden is fully asleep, so I grab a pillow and a blanket and lay on the floor. That is where I end up sleeping for the rest of the night.
- 6-something, Walker wakes back up and says "Mamma, it's morning, I want to watch cartoons now." I look at the clock and it's in the 6 o'clock hour so I say "fine" and turn on Clone Wars which he missed the night before.

FRIDAY 11/13/09 - FRIDAY THE 13TH
MORNING
- Typically morning: Alarm clock went off. Caden woke up. We played on the couch for a little while (my favorite way to start a day). Walker got up. He seemed fine and I told him he was going to school. Got him a cup of milk and then found him some clothes to wear. Got Caden a bottle. Packed Walker's lunch bag and back pack. Got Walker dressed. Got jackets on all of us and headed down to the bus stop.
- The bus was a few minutes late. Got back to the house about 7:30. Time to get myself ready for work.
- 8:08: Dressed and ready to go. Just need Scott to get up to care for Caden and move his car so I can get out of the driveway. He's still struggling to get well, so he's taken the morning off from work.
- Well, I TRIED to get out of the house early...but that isn't going to happen. I MAY get out earlier than I typically do on Friday, so at least that is something. I'm WORN DOWN!
WORK
- Against all my efforts to get in early, I arrived to work at 10:00...groan...
- Made a call to my mom about watching Caden this afternoon so I didn't have to get out early and she said that was fine. Called Scott to let him know and he had assumed I was having my parents watch Caden so I could go down to the kung fu school and help him teach his Kids/Juniors class...grrrr...I'm having a bad day. It's totally feeling like a Friday The 13th...grrrr.... Every day that I have left early because my mom is healing from her surgery, I've taken sick time and I'm sure I'm getting grumbles from my co-workers. I finally felt that my mom was well enough to watch Caden for an hour or two and then my husband gets sick and I have to now help him. It's been a VERY long week taking care of a sick husband and two energetic boys...and trying to keep them from getting sick...and worrying that they WILL get sick. Working a full-time job. AND trying to avoid getting sick myself. I'm totally wearing down :(
- Got into the office and opened a couple of boxes of signs that were delivered. Attached some velcro to one set of signs that needed it and then sent out emails to a bunch of clients to let them know their signs were ready for pick up.
- 10:25: Start my list so I could get some venting off my chest AND so I didn't forget what I've done in the past 30 minutes.
- Responded to a friend's email about when to bring your child to the dentist for the first time.
- Prep to teach the design intern how to do signage projects.
- Did some "busy-work" and then did a favor for a fellow Museum-er.
- Had lunch.
- Printed out a HP sticker for the elevator, as someone had already pulled the original one off...less than a month and people are already picking.
- Read an email from HR about reporting when you have the flu, or someone in your house has the flu. Responded to HR that I believe Scott has it. I think that according to the rules passed down TODAY, they want ME to stay home even though I'm not the one with the flu....this is all going to go sooooooooooo badly.
- Archived some projects and then cleaned off and disaffected my desk.
- 5:07: Time to head home
AFTER WORK
- Picked up Caden at my parents. Came home. Exchange some emails with my upstairs neighbor. I noticed all her curtains were down and I wanted to know if she's moving. She's planning too, but said the couple on the third floor are also moving. Fed Caden dinner. Got him ready for bed. Scott and Walker came home. Put Caden to bed. Sat on the couch with Scott and Walker to wait for Clone Wars to start. Walker fell asleep before it came on. Scott and I watched Clone Wars. I put Walker to bed while Scott got the pizza from the delivery guy at the door. Sat on the couch and ate pizza and watched Project Runway. Fell asleep.

THURSDAY 11/12/09
MORNING
- 4-something in the morning...Walker come into the living room and wants to sleep with me on the couch. He curls up on the other end and we both fall back to sleep.
- Hit the snooze button 3 times. Finally got up about 6:40. Everyone else is still asleep, so I pop on the computer quickly.
- 6:50: need to get Walker's clothes ready and wake him up so he can get ready for school.
- Packed Walker's backpack. Woke him up and got him a cup of milk. Got him dressed and then Caden called from the crib. Got Cade out of his bed and brought him in the living room and finished getting Walker ready for school. Put jackets on all three of us and headed out the door. The bus was running about a minute early, so we had to run down to the stop. No one else was there either and so I held the bus as other neighbors came running up the street.
- Got back to the house and set Caden up in his high chair outside the bathroom so I could take my shower.
- Got out of the shower and quickly checked my Meeting Maker to see what sort of meetings I have scheduled and see what the weather is going to be like today...since I fell asleep before the news last night.
WORK
- In late because I had to pick up a few things at the store for Scott before heading into work. He's feeling a bit better, but not completely better and didn't want to have to pack Caden up just to take him out to the store. Arrived about 9:45.
- 10:00: Department management meeting.
- 10:45: Go over Sparks edits with editor-in-chief and the designers.
- Check email -- FINALLY. Open time log.
- 11:15: Nano Day Sign: Laid it out, sent it to the client for review. Got approval and sent it to print...I like projects that are that easy.
- Called the hubby to check in on how he is feeling. Saw on Facebook that several of the people who were at the Fest over the weekend DID have H1N1, so I'm pretty sure that is what he has. Went down for lunch and sat and ate it while reviewing the departments "job descriptions' as my boss is trying help to clarify how the department works.
- Reviewed project assignments with project coordinator.
- Gave a signage tutorial to the design intern.
- Started working on the edits to Sparks.
- 2:00: Design Assignment meeting.
- Back to working on Sparks.
- Took a trip down to the exhibit halls to show the design intern how to install posters into the poster cases and then grabbed a cup of coffee on the why back up to the office.
- 3:15: Weekly Coordinators meeting.
- Checked email and chatted with coworkers. Helped out a designer who was heading out the door by making some final changes to her layouts and sending them on to the client.
- Chatted with the Managing Editor about departmental goals.
- 4:30: Time to head home
AFTER WORK
- Picked the boys up from kung fu and brought them home. Let them play while I got settled in.
- Found some pictures of Walker on the computer for a homework assignment he had. Printed them out and Walker glued them to his "all about me" paper.
- Brought Caden into the kitchen and gave him some dinner.
- Walker started a coughing fit in the living room so I told him to come in the kitchen and drink some juice. He started heaving, so I put down a towel and said "if you feel like you need to throw-up, do it on this towel." Well, after several more minutes of coughing...he did!
- I put Caden to bed and then tended to Walker.
- Checked Walker's temp and he was fine. I think he just was coughing so much from post-nasal drip that he made himself puke. I actually think Walker LIKES to "throw-up." I'm going to have to watch him when he's a teenager :(
- Got Walker into his PJs and let him lay with me on the couch.
- Scott got home and he put Walker to bed. The past week had finally caught up to me. I had NO energy to do ANYTHING. Scott still isn't feeling well, but he took the trash out and ordered himself some dinner. I laid on the couch and watched TV. I was going to have some cereal for dinner, but never ended up getting up...just fell asleep some time after 10.

WEDNESDAY 11/11/09 - HOLIDAY
- Up around 6:30ish. First by Walker and then Caden woke up. Brought them into the living room and turned on cartoons.
- Walker colored for a while and then I got breakfast for both of the boys and we all sat in the kitchen and ate breakfast and watched cartoons.
- Walker and Caden played in the kitchen while I updated my blog. Trying REALLY hard to catch up to "present time". I'm a half week behind at the moment.
- Got Caden out of trouble a few times.
- Put the boys into the bath and got them dressed. Put Caden down for a morning nap. Emptied the dish washer and refilled it...this really is an never ending cycle.
- Cook breakfast...Cinnamon Swirl French Toast!!!!
- Gave Scott, who is STILL sick, his breakfast and he ate it on the couch. I ate mine in the kitchen with Caden while watching the Today Show. Finished breakfast and then loaded all the dirty dishes into the dish washer and started it. Got a bottle of milk for Caden. Got myself dressed and then put Caden down for a nap.
- 10:55: Going to take Walker down to the park to play while Scott rests on the couch and Caden takes his nap. Played with Walker at the play ground and then we went down to one of the ball parks and ran around playing lightsabers and kicking and hitting a ball around. It was a nice way to spend an autumn morning.
- Stopped for gas on the way home. Caden was awake when we got back. I picked him up to find that he had leaked...what else is new? Changed Cade, and then Walker said he wanted to take a nap. I put him in his bed and he said "good night"...but I knew it wouldn't last. It didn't. Walker came out of the bedroom and then said he wanted to lay on the kitchen floor and watch Sponge Bob with Caden. Whatever makes him happy...
- Scott got into the shower and I made another Blog entry. I packed Caden's bag and got Walker ready to go and then moved my car so Scott could take Walker and drive down to the school (he needed to cancel his Juniors class since both him and his assistant instructor had the flu...sigh.
- Get Caden ready to go and he and I are going to take a trip to Toys-R-Us to pick up some Christmas presents. YAY!
- Got to TRU, but didn't find what I wanted for Walker. Did end up getting a couple of things though, so I didn't leave empty handed. Also stopped at Target, and picked up a couple of little things, including a Christmas shirt for myself. I like to have one for our Holiday Open House in December :)
- Came home and Walker was napping, but Caden started to cry and woke him up. Walker seemed out of sorts, I think he was actually still sleeping even though his eyes were open. I brought Cade into the kitchen and fed him.
- Got the boys packed up and we all went out to Friendly's for an early dinner. Scott hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, and even though he still wasn't feeling well, he knew he should eat something.
- It took a while to be waited on for some reason. Guess no one knew who our table belonged too. Not a good start when Scott isn't feeling very well. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long for our food. But Caden was getting restless and by the time we were ready for ice cream, Caden had had about enough of the high chair. I took him out and sat him on my lap but he squirmed like crazy. It took a little longer than we would have liked to get our check, but we got it paid quickly and then headed out.
- Made a quick stop by the kung fu school so Scott could pick something up. He had made arrangements for some of his senior students to cover classes since he was still sick.
- Got home and both boys seemed totally wound up. Hopefully it will be another early night for them both. Scott went and laid down in the bed to take a nap for a little while. Sat on the couch and did some homework with Walker.
- Fed Caden dinner and got him in his PJs. Let him play for a little while. I prepared Walker's lunch and snack in the kitchen. Replaced batteries in Caden's "musical rainforest" toy that hangs in his crib. Woke up Scott as it was just about time to put Caden to bed and I had to reattach the toy to the crib.
- 8:00: picked Caden up and put him to bed. Brought Walker into the kitchen and finished up his homework while I watched America's Next Top Model.
- 9:00: Got Walker ready for bed, read him a story, and kissed him good night.
- Sat on the couch with Scott to watch some TV...he was watching Vampire Diaries... Seemed like an okay show, but I was a bit lost since I've never seen it before...neither had he. Turned on CSI: NY at 10:00, watched about a half hour of it...and then fell asleep. Did wake up until 2ish when Caden started making noise in his crib. Got up and gave him a bottle and went back to sleep...on the couch.

"Lucky Man"
LUCKY MAN
By Montgomery Gentry
Songwriters: Turnbull, Dave; Cory, David Lee
I have days where I hate my job
This little town and the whole world too
And last Sunday when the Pats lost
Lord, it put me in a bad mood
I have moments when I curse the rain
Then complain when the sun's too hot
I look around at what everyone has
And I forget about all I've got
But I know I'm a lucky man
God's given me a pretty fair hand
Got a house and a piece of land
A few dollars in a coffee can
My old trucks still running good
My ticker's ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving
And one more day to be my little kid's dad
Lord, knows I'm a lucky man
Got some friends who would be here fast
I could call 'em any time of day
Got a brother who's got my back
Got a mama who I swears a saint
Got a brand new rod and reel
Got a full week off this year
Dad had a close call last spring
It's a miracle he's still here
But I know I'm a lucky man
God's given me a pretty fair hand
Got a house and a piece of land
A few dollars in a coffee can
My old trucks still running good
My ticker's ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving
One more day to be my little kid's dad
Lord, knows I'm a lucky man
Oh, my old trucks still running good
My ticker's ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman's loving
And even my bad days ain't that bad
Yeah, I'm a lucky man, I'm a lucky, lucky man

TUESDAY 11/10/09 - "SICK DAY"
- Alarm clock goes off, hit the snooze. Goes off again, hit the snooze again.
- 6:30: Hear Caden talking in his crib. Hope that he'll just entertain himself for a few more minutes. Then here another voice, Walker, talking to Caden. Guess it's time to get up.
- Get the boys up. Scott is groaning in the bed. Not a good sign.
- Get milk for both boys. Get Walker his clothes. Dress Walker. Pack his snack. Take both boys down to the bus stop. See a huge hawk swoop down over our front lawn as we started walking to the bus stop. It was very cool. Give Walker a kiss and come back with Caden.
- Set Caden up in his high chair outside the bathroom and jump into the shower. After showering, bring Caden into the kitchen so I can iron some clothes to wear. Fold a basket of clothes as well.
- Go into the bedroom to get dressed and check in on Scott. He has a fever and isn't feeling well at all. I decide that I have to stay home from work so I can take care of him AND take care of the boys.
- Get Scott some juice and then send out a long email to my boss and coworkers saying I wouldn't be in and passing along info on meetings I'll miss and projects that I was working on. Make arrangements to have some things printed out and passed along to the appropriate people and give my "2 cents" on the meetings I'd be missing.
- Dry my hair and feed Caden breakfast.
- Check email while trying to keep Caden away from the computer.
- Check in on Scott. Play with Caden. Change his diaper. Check email again. IM with some co-workers.
- 10:00: Scott gets up and I put Caden down for a morning nap. Update my list.
- Spent my quiet time posting to my blog. That is a good thing to do on my "day off." Keep feeling like I'm catching up and then I realize I have another week to go. Why does time have to keep passing by?
- Chat with coworkers via IM and respond to some work emails.
- Scott reminds me it's time to pick up Walker at the bus. I'm not usually home on his half-days, so I didn't know exactly what time to pick him up...DOH!
- Get Walker from the bus. He was very happy to see me. Stop and pull out a trash can because someone had dropped a couple of bags of trash at the corner of our house a few days ago and no one else had picked them up yet. Turned around to find Walker peeing on the lawn!!! WHO TAUGHT HIM THAT??? Sigh! Yell at Walker and pick up the trash and put the barrel back before heading into the house. BOYS!
- Made another blog entry and checked work email again.
- Checked in on Caden, he's still sleeping...he's been napping for 2 hours!
- Dishes! Cleaned out the flatware draw.
- Caden got up. Took him out of the crib and let him play. Rescued Walker's toys from Caden and then put him in his high chair to eat Cheerios while I made lunch for Walker: peanut butter and jelly and apples.
- Made soup for myself to eat.
- Made soup for Scott and then fed Caden.
- Emptied the trash and took the recyclibles out. Checked email. And then let Caden "free". He chased his brother around the house for a little while.
- Changed Cade's diaper and clothes while Walker colored at the coffee table. Caden started to get into his stuff, so I moved Walker to "higher ground." Got Caden a bottle and then plugged in my flat iron so I could FINALLY do my hair...only 2:00 in the afternoon...
- Did my make-up. Went into the living room and played with the boys for a bit and then turned on the Wiggles ON-Demand (Walker asked for them!) and then sat in the rocking chair with Caden while he drank his bottle. I think I may have fallen asleep for a couple of minutes.
- Caden wanted to get down, so let him play and I popped on the computer. Reviewed some HP sign layouts that Lianne sent along to me and sent back my comments.
- Made another Blog posting. Now up to November 4...one one more week to catch up with...sigh
- Trimmed Caden and Walker's nails...I know, so exciting!
- Munched on Cheetos with Caden and then gave him a bottle of juice while I loaded the dishwasher. Then got Walker some paper, sissors, and a glue stick so he could "make planets".
- Caden is cranky, so try to entertain him and keep him out of trouble. Finally put him down on the living room floor with a bottle of juice and then help Walker get some markers that have fallen behind the couch.
- Go in and check on Scott. He's awake, but he still has a pretty high fever :( Give him a glass of juice and some Tylenol. He'll need to get up and watch the boys for a little while when I go out for Walker's Parent/Teacher meeting..
- Get ready to head to meet Walker's teacher.
- Stopped for coffee on the way to Walker's school. Met with his teacher. She said he was "a pleasure to have in class," but wasn't very social with the other kids. Also, he didn't remember things the way he should. She also said he scored a 0 on his literacy test. Typically the school system would pull him out for special classes at this point, but because of budget cut-backs they have less specialists to go around. I wonder if there are any programs like "Silvanian" for kindergarterners?
- Got home and got a bottle for Caden and ended up spilling a cup of ice coffee, that Scott had in the fridge, all over the floor. Cleaned that up after putting Caden down in the living room and then got dinner for Walker. Chatted with Scott about Walker's teacher report and sat on the couch with Walker to look at his class picture (which he wasn't in because he was out sick that day) and asked him if he remembered the names of the kids in the picture. He only remembered about half out of 18. I asked if there were any that he liked as a friend and he point at a couple of boys and a girl. Walker's teacher suggests trying to set up a "play date" with some of the kids he's friendly with.
- Walker stated he needed to "poop" and went into the bathroom while Scott and I chatted. I put Caden in his crib, because he was acting very cranky. He just kept crying.
- Walker finished in the bathroom and said he then wanted to go to bed...it was only 7:15??? I told him to put on his PJs while I went and got Caden out of the crib. I sat in the living room rocking Caden until Walker was done and he said he wanted me to tuck him in and read him a story. I asked if he was sure he was ready for bed. He hadn't even eaten a quarter of his dinner. He kept saying he wanted to go to bed. I gave Caden to Scott and went and tucked Walker into bed after reading him a bedtime story.
- I came back into the living room and Scott had put Caden back in the crib. He said he had fallen asleep on his lap. We sat in the living room for a few minutes chatting. I was concerned that both boys went to bed so early, but Scott said that neither had an afternoon nap as they usually do, so that is probably why they were tired.
- I popped on the computer, but Caden started to cry again. I went in and got him and put him in his high chair and then went down stairs and switched out a load of laundry. I came back up and folded the blankets that I took out of the dryer while Caden munched on crackers.
- I then fed Caden some dinner and washed bottles while he munched on some more crackers and I watched Extra.
- 7:50: popped on the computer to update my list before getting Caden ready to go down for the night.
- Put Caden in his PJs and let him play around the living room for awhile. Put him to bed about 8:20 and then went and started dinner.
- Brought Scott dinner and sat on the couch and ate it with him...and of course...fell asleep.
- 12:30: Walker wakes up. I cuddle with him on the couch for a few minutes and he falls asleep. He felt warm. I think he has a fever. I pick him up and put him back to bed. I go to bed as well. It was a VERY LONG DAY.

MONDAY 11/9/09
MORNING
- Average Monday morning: boys get up. Milk for both of them. Get Walker dressed. Pack his lunch. Bring him down to the bus (took Caden along with us since he had just woken up). Got back to the house and ironed clothes for myself. Got dressed. Woke up Scott. Got Caden dressed.
- Out of the house just before 8:30. A stop at Dunkin's and then off to work.
WORK
- Got in a little late because I was listening to Tom Brady on the radio http://www.weei.com/. I really wish that interview wasn't at 9:00 on Mondays.
- 9:30: Staff meeting and brainstorming about holiday/New Years card for the Museum.
- Jumped into "dumping" Sparks copy into layout. Needs to go to editors tomorrow.
- 12:00: took a walk to the mall with Lianne for lunch. It was a beautiful day, so we ate outside. So nice. Came back and bought a cookie.
- Back to working on Sparks. Chatted with coworkers about some work stuff.
- 3:00: Went down stairs for coffee. Back to my desk and opened up a sign project and updated my timelog. Did a quick sign and then sent it to the printer. Sent a file down to the color printer to be printed for tomorrow.
- 3:38: Time to head home
AFTER WORK
- Got out an hour early so I could get to the kung fu school by the time Kids Class started, so Scott didn't have Caden as a distraction. Played with Caden while Walker took his class. Caden is getting SOOOO good at standing up by himself. Walking isn't too far away.
- Took 4/5 of a kung fu class myself. Caden started to get too cranky and was too much of a distraction for me and the rest of the class. Took Cade out of his play pen and let him climb the stairs up to the dressing area...yes, he climbed the whole flight!!!
- Got changed and packed up the boys to head home. Walker wanted chocolate milk, so we made a quick stop at Dunkins.
- 8:00: Got home and Caden was very cranky. Brought him in the kitchen and gave him a chocolate Munchkin while I got dinner ready for him. I checked in on Walker who was cuddled up on the couch. Went back in the kitchen and fed Caden.
- Caden got cranky again after finishing dinner, so I made him a bottle and brought him in the living room to put him in his pajamas. Walker...who was still on the couch saying he was "very tired"...gave him a kiss good night and I put Caden down to sleep.
- Went into the the kitchen to wash out bottles after taking a call from Scott who is out food shopping. Went into the living room to get the dirty bottles out of Caden's diaper bag and found Walker sleeping on the couch. Finished washing bottles while watching Dancing With the Stars and then moved Walker to his bed.
- 8:55: check email.
- Scott got home, and he's not feeling well at all. I help him bring in the groceries and then put them away. Scott checks his email and then goes and lays on the couch while I make dinner.
- I finish dinner and we sit on the couch and eat and watch Castle. Unfortunately we BOTH fall asleep before it's over and so we have no idea "who done it"...oh well.
- I woke up at 12:30 and went to bed and let Scott sleep on the couch so his coughing wouldn't wake up Caden.

SUNDAY 11/8/09 - FOOTBALL SUNDAY
- Caden woke up around 6:20. Walker came into the bedroom around 6:30. We were all in the living room waking up Andrea by 6:40 am.
- We all hung out chatting for a little while before Andrea had to head out...she had to get home and get dressed before heading into town for a fundraiser. Walker told me how they played lightsabers, and Candyland, and Star Wars games. Andrea was a big hit with Walker -- that isn't easy to do -- Bravo Andrea! Andrea also told me that Walker ate ALL his dinner without much prompting from her. That never happens with me. She must have the magical touch.
- Andrea packed up and headed out just after 7:00. I brought the boys into the kitchen and we all sat down and had some breakfast.
- Walker wanted me to help him draw some pictures, so we did that at the table, but I was getting pretty tired. Yesterday wore me out.
- I tried to entertain the boys, but by 8:30, I was hoping Caden would go down for his morning nap. I put Caden in his crib with a bottle of juice. I laid on the couch and got about a 10 minute nap after Walker stopped asking me questions. Caden finished his bottle and started to squawk, so I got up and we played for a while. About 45 minutes later I tried go get him down for a nap again...that didn't work at all.
- Finally about 10:00 I put him down with a bottle of milk and I managed to get a half hour nap. Better than nothing.
- Brought the boys into the kitchen again. Walker wanted me to make a s'more. Unfortunately we didn't have any chocolate. He was willing to do it with just gram crackers and a marshmellow. I "cooked" the marshmellow over the stove burner, but it got a little burnt and Walker wanted nothing to do with it, so I ate it. Would have been alot better with chocolate. Caden discovered he liked gram crackers.
- Fed Caden a late breakfast/early lunch and then washed some bottles and swept the kitchen floor (lots of gram cracker crumbs and Cheerios). Folded a basket of laundry as I found something for the boys to wear...Patriots gear, since we'd be going over to watch the game with Papa.
- Had all of us dressed and ready to go out the door by 12:55. A bit later than I had wanted. Left the house only to realize I left my cell phone behind. Circled back to the house and picked it up. The Patriots game had now started so we listened to it on the radio.
- Stopped for gas and coffee and finally got to my parent's about twenty past one. Got the kids in the house and juggled them trying to keep them happy while my dad and I watched the game.
- My mom got home from food shopping with my sister just after half-time, so my mom could then help to distract the kids...though Caden had gotten pretty cranky. Luckily the Pats WONE, so Caden's crankiness didn't rub off on me ;)
- Sat at the kitchen table and caught up with the football pool that I have going with my dad and brother...I'm 7 games behind my brother in the win column...he really needs to have a couple of bad weeks and I need a couple of good ones.
- Went out to the cars and switched the car seats back to my car from my dad's and then packed up the kids to go. Took the VERY long way home so that Walker would go down for a nap. Got home just after 5:00 (yeah, that isn't really that late of a nap for Walker) and brought the boys in. Caden is awake, but I put him down with a bottle he had when he left my parent's. Put Walker on the couch and wrote up my daily list while I waited for Scott to get home from the Cape.
==============================
It was a VERY long day and Scott got home late from the Cape. I was tired and so was he. I did talk him into going out to dinner with the boys so I wouldn't have to cook. We went out to The 99, but the boys got cranky and both were VERY tired. Neither ate much, so we packed things up and came home. After putting the boys to bed, Scott and I settled down to watch The Amazing Race and I'm pretty sure I crashed on the couch before 10:00.

SATURDAY 11/7/09 - OCTOBERFEST DAY
- 4:30: Walker is standing in front of me. "Mamma, I leaked." He peed in his pants and he was SOAKED...sigh. I send him to the bathroom and pull the blankets off the couch and yes, there is a really big wet spot on our new couch..sigh. I grab a towel and press it against the wet spot and then go into the bathroom to clean up Walker. I get him new PJs and get him dressed. I tell him he has to go back and sleep in his bed. He's not happy with this. I go back into the living room to dab the towel on the wet spot some more. Walker is crying in his bed, so I decide to sleep with him in his bed.
- 6:30: Walker wakes up and says "It's morning!" I get him to cuddle with me for about 15 minutes and then we get up and go into the living room and I turn on some cartoons. I get him a cup of milk and do some cleaning in the kitchen.
- Walker shouts to me from the living room and then I hear Caden call from the bed. I was hoping he'd say asleep a little longer.
- I get Caden out of the crib and sit with both boys in the living room for a little while and then let Caden play while I go do dishes.
- Walker wants to watch something "On Demand" so I find something new on the TV and start my morning list. I hear a bag from the living room and then Caden cry. I go and check on him, and have no idea what happened, but he seems fine...but he's leaked. I change his diaper and PJs and then settle him in the living room with a bottle.
- Back to my list, but interrupted by Walker who wants to barricade his brother from the couch so he doesn't get into Walker's toys.
- Checked email and Facebook. Made some people "admins" of the Dragonclaw page and posted some pics of Fest auction and raffle items.
- Gave Caden some Cheerios and bananas, and then let him out of the chair for a little while to get into things. Set Walker up in the bathroom to play in the sink. He like to put his guys in the water.
- Cleaned the kitchen: scrubbed down the stove, washed all the dishes that didn't fit into the dishwasher, cleaned off the table and took the leaf out now that my crafting projects are done for the time being, swept the floor...about 4 times...kids and their Cheerios and crackers...
- Did a load of laundry. Got breakfast for Walker and Caden. Put Caden down for a nap. Walker is back in the bathroom playing in the sink. Time to wash the kitchen floor now that Cade is asleep.
- Ate a bowl of cereal. Folded a basket of clothes. Set Walker up to paint pictures at the kitchen table and helped him paint a picture of a city with lots of stick people walking around...it's what he wanted.
Art Director: Walker / Illustration: Mommy & Walker
Walker told me to make the buildings and the people. Walker panted the sky and the sun.
- Did a little more cleaning and then took a shower while Cade was still asleep and Walker watched Lego films on YouTube
- Got out of the shower. Caden got up. I finished cleaning the living room and vacuumed.
- Packed up the boys and took them to Burger King for lunch, then we headed off to the super market to get things that were needed for the house.
- 3:40: Got back home. Did a little more cleaning and getting ready to head down the Cape.
- My friend Andrea arrived to watch the boys. I went through where everything is in the house and who gets fed what and where. Andrea played with the boys while I packed up my fest costume and got ready to go.
- Gave the boys kisses and headed out. Stopped for gas and coffee and back on the road to the Cape.
- Got to the camp ground about 6:30. Called Scott and had him meet me at the parking lot since it was very dark and I didn't want to wonder around in the dark on my own. Got to the main hall and did a quick costume change in the back room of the kitchen and then joined in on the fun.
- Ate dinner with my friends. Got the run down on what we had for auction and raffle and then kicked off the nights entertainment! 8:15
- 8 awards. 20 raffle items. 20 auction items. An assortment of entertainers. A successful night was was wrapped up just before 11:00. It was fun to be the Octoberfest MC once again.
- Hung out in the kitchen with some friends; chatting and eating cheese. Gave Scott a call about 11:30 and told him I was going to get ready to go. He came up to the main hall to meet me and walk me to the car.
- Got on the road about mid-night. I was well awake for the first 20 minutes, but then started to feel drowsy. A large antlered deer jump out at the side of the road quickly filled me with energy. I nearly hit it! The adrenaline pumped through my veins for about another 15 minutes...but then started to wear off. The last 20 minutes of the ride home was REALLY hard. They say "if you're feeling drowsy, then you should pull over." If I did that, I'd had fallen asleep and who knows how long I would have been there...or who would have found me. I pushed through and made it home -- safe and sound -- about 1:00.
- Got in the house, it was dark and quiet. Both the boys and Andrea were asleep. Sent a quick text to Scott to let him know I was home and then crawled into bed and fell asleep as soon as I closed my eye
